Arthur (2)

Grumpy Old Bovine Featured in Hudson Artists’ Spring 2019 Art Expo.

His name is Arthur, and despite his disapproving appearance he’ll be happy to hang on the wall of some lucky raffle ticket holder at the Hudson Artists Spring 2019 Art Expo. Visitors are invited to drop in and take a chance on winning Arthur, with raffle proceeds going to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation.
For non-winners, a herd of Arthur’s farmyard friends, fresh from the whimsical paintbrush of Carole Lessard, will also be available at very affordable prices during the show.
But there’s much more. Whether a visitor’s preference is for oil paintings, watercolours or mixed media works, they can select from a wide variety of exciting creations by our many other talented artists.

It is time already to start thinking about our Fall Show which is coming up in a few short weeks, Oct. 17-18-19. As you are all aware, we are presently without a Show Convenor and thanks to the people who have stepped up and taken over a task, the show will go on.  I ask your indulgence as we do our best to produce a show of the quality that people expect from Artistes Hudson Artists.

If you have any questions bring them to the meeting on Sept. 17 and we will try to answer them. You have been sent an application form as an e-mail attachment. Please fill it out and send it along with your cheque for $25 by September 26, 2014 to:

Elizabeth Caron, 4 de la Cooperative, Rigaud, QC J0P 1P0

Blank forms will also be available at the September 17 meeting.

Mona Turner will be producing posters and postcards to advertise the fall show. If you want to have an image of something that you are showing printed on the back of the postcards, please send me the image via mona.turner[AT]icloud.com by September 5 at the latest.

1795 x 1287 pixels would be a full size on the postcard, so please get as close as you can to these dimensions, with a resolution of 300 pixels per inch.

AHA Fall Show 2013

A report from Jane Wright:DSCN3205

Once again a spectacular AHA

Although this show was somewhat smaller, it more than made up for the size in the quality and diversity of the artworks.

We had 29 artists showing and total sales of just over $7,000 and we are pleased to present NOVA with a donation of $529.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of show convenor Sue Rhodes and her legion of helpers the show was beautifully presented.

The meticulous care with the hanging,  the attentive sales staff and the warm welcome in the kitchen all contributed to offering an enjoyable art experience for all ages.

There were many positive comments from attendees regarding the variety of techniques,  the addition of sculpture and 3D pieces and the overall quality of artistic expression.

All AHA members can give themselves a pat on the back for another job well done.
